Small chapel built around 1590, regarded as the religious nucleus from which the present parish of Feteira developed.
Azzy’s story
Ermida de Nossa Senhora das Mercês was created so Mass could be celebrated during the grape harvest, when landowners stayed in this area near the vineyards. As the settlement grew, it became the centre of community life and one of the most important places in the formation of Feteira.
