Environmental interpretation centre opened in 2014, dedicated to the geology, biodiversity and natural heritage of Serra de Santa Bárbara.
Azzy’s story
Before exploring the mountain, this is the ideal place to understand how Terceira was formed and why this area is so special. The centre explains volcanism, flora, fauna and the relationship between people and the landscape over the centuries.
