Azzy’s story
On 5 July 1978, a CASA C-212 Aviocar crashed on the slope of Serra de Santa Bárbara during a training flight, killing all three crew members. Part of the wreckage remains among the vegetation today, making the site a striking place of remembrance in Portuguese military aviation history.
