Small 16th-century chapel dedicated to Saint Catherine of Alexandria, in São Pedro parish.
Azzy’s story
Ermida de Santa Catarina already existed by the mid-16th century and witnessed several episodes in Angra's history. During the siege of Fortaleza de São João Baptista in 1640, the area around the chapel even formed part of the defence of Fanal Bay.
