About this place
Public art monument unveiled in 1995, conceived by António Dacosta as a tribute to the Holy Spirit and Azorean history.
Azzy’s story
The Altar-Nave “Em Louvor de…” grew from an idea by António Dacosta and brings two symbols together in one form: the nave of a church and the hull of a boat. Installed at Rocha do Cantagalo, it recalls the Azores' connection to the Holy Spirit, the sea and Atlantic journeys.
