Coastal lighthouse inaugurated in 1934 at Ponta das Contendas, on the south-east of Terceira Island.
Azzy’s story
Farol das Contendas began lighting this coast on 1 February 1934, helping navigation along one of Terceira's most exposed stretches. Its tower is 13 metres high and the light reaches around 23 nautical miles.
