19th-century parish church opened in 1868 and dedicated to Our Lady of Mercy, patron saint of Feteira.
Azzy’s story
The present church was built because the old Ermida de Nossa Senhora das Mercês had become too small for Feteira's population. Opened in 1868, it was seriously damaged by the 1980 earthquake and later rebuilt, remaining the parish's main church.
