Parish church dating to the early 16th century, one of the oldest in Terceira's rural area.
Azzy’s story
Igreja de Santa Bárbara already existed in 1515 and for centuries was the centre of a vast parish covering much of the island's west. Damaged by the 1980 earthquake, it was rebuilt while largely preserving its historic design.
