About this place
Municipal market founded in 1836 on the former grounds of Convento da Esperança, created to centralise the sale of fruit, vegetables and other food products in Angra do Heroísmo.
Azzy’s story
Since the 19th century, Mercado Duque de Bragança has been part of everyday life in Angra, bringing producers, traders and residents together around local products. Over time it became a place closely linked to the city's commercial tradition and daily life.
