About this place
Historic 19th-century theatre, opened in 1860 and distinguished by Neoclassical-influenced architecture and a traditional horseshoe-shaped auditorium. It is one of the Azores' main performance venues.
Azzy’s story
Since 1860, Teatro Angrense has hosted music, theatre and major performances, welcoming local, national and international artists. It has been renovated over the years, but remains one of Angra do Heroísmo's great cultural symbols.
